Why bring attention to something, if there’s going to be cognitive dissonance?

Why - ‘what-about-ism”- something, if there’s going to be cognitive dissonance?

I am an Independent. I have a party but I’m liberal with my votes if the right candidates push the policies I agree with. I don’t play games by claiming I’m a moderate, a centrist, or basically, a truly undecided voter, a fence-straddler, built-in the name. I am someone who gathers information for herself, and forms her own conclusions of the situation, not in the effort to assuage anyone, but to speak out on behalf of those people who think like me.

My group, whoever they turn out to be for me. Freaks, weirdos, nerds, Fabios and Bimbos, Trix and Traps, parts of the Lower & Middle Classes. Whoever my people are, I will allow you to come forward, relieved of your allegiance colors to finally see how the two sides help each other more than they represent the People. Either side has yet to prove a two-party state is sufficient representation for such a large country with off-shoot territory.

In the wake of the Election, optimists swept people into a frenzied state of irrational thinking. In the eclipsing of it, the Triumphers pursued toward the hearts of whom felt strong about the life, liberty, and justice of their country, making empty threats of a reality that a person with ill-will could be a do-gooder and not push the plans once advocated for, if any sustained provocation could result into the chaos most of us all worry about already being underway. The dark times are coming, but it’s up to you to think through the mind-numbing madness. It’s up to you to think above the instinct of violence, that stupidity is to be angry as you are not aware who’s in control once you’ve lost it.

I will open my ears for days to come to learn. Learn to hold space, learn to actively listen, learn to forgive in more ways than one, but try to remind others that fear evokes a response. To any impulsive or radical move to satiate or alleviate the symptoms, will only justify why the feeling has intensified to being in full focus.
